AM AM Golf Tournament 2010
A record 57 teams competed in the annual Hereford Lions Club charity tournament at Wormsley on August 6) with the top team award being won by last year’s
winners, Colin Farr, Andrew Turner Jones, Ian Jay and Steve Hyde on 105 points. Runners up and just two points behind were Andrew Griffiths, Dave Hartland, Neil Bennett and Adam Phillips.
The winning ladies team w as Vicky Howells, Heather Burley, Helen Green and Sharon Helps, all members at Burghill. John Priday gained the longest drive in the over 55 category with Dex Murgatroyd taking the under 55s. Jenny Wildman was the longest hitting lady with Wyn Owen, a former captain at Wormsley taking the prize for nearest the pin on the 5th.
Lion John von Anrep, joint organiser of the popular event, said “Over £5000 was raised for Lions charities which this year includes St Michael’s Hospice, and Lions are indebted to Herefordshire Golf Club and the many sponsors for helping us stage such successful tournament.”
